What is OLNA?

OLNA stands for the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assemesment.

There are three components in the OLNA; these are, reading, writing and numeracy.

Who sits the OLNA?

All West Australian students are required to sit the OLNA in Semester one of Year 10 unlessa satisfactory score was achieved in NAPLAN in Year 9 (Band 8 or higher).

What happens if students don't pass the OLNA?

Students who do not receive the minimum score in each component students will be provided additional opportunities to resit the OLNA throughout Year 10, 11 and 12. Students will have up to six opportunities in March and September of each year to achieve the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy.

Are there resources available to help prepare students to pass the OLNA?

Academic Task Force runs school holiday programs in January and in April to help students develop their Maths and English skills. Further information about these courses is available here.

We highly recommend that students who need to sit their OLNA should seek weekly help with a teacher who will help with their individual weaknesses. We recommend students enrol in our Weekend Tuition Classes for ongoing help to pass OLNA.
